Welcome to Cookhover!

Hey there, fellow food lover! I’m Natalie Brooks, the creator behind Cookhover, your cozy online corner for inspired recipes and genuine kitchen stories. I’ve always believed that cooking isn’t just about following steps—it’s about connecting, experimenting, and making memories. Whether you’re a seasoned home chef or just discovering your love for the kitchen, I’m thrilled you’re here!

My journey with recipes has led me to some amazing places: I was a finalist in the 2022 Home Cooks’ Challenge, my dishes have been featured in Delicious Magazine and Kitchen Stories, and I’ve had the joy of collaborating with brands like GreenPan and The Spice House. Through these experiences, I’ve learned that great food is less about perfection and more about the love and intention you bring to every meal.

What I cherish most? It’s the way a homemade breakfast can brighten a rainy day, or how sharing a warm dessert brings friends and family closer. Over the years, I’ve seen firsthand how recipes can be little acts of care—and I’ve dedicated Cookhover to celebrating those everyday moments. In this space, you’ll find not just recipes, but stories, tips, and honest advice from my own kitchen adventures.

How It All Started

For as long as I can remember, the kitchen was my favorite place to be. My earliest memory is helping my grandma roll out dough for cinnamon rolls, flour everywhere and laughter filling the air. It was those simple, joyful moments that sparked my passion for cooking.

I started experimenting with recipes in my teens, often inviting friends over for “test dinners”—sometimes a hit, sometimes a hilarious mess! But I loved every minute, especially the smiles around the table. Over time, my curiosity grew into a true devotion: learning from cookbooks, traveling to taste new flavors, and trying out every dinner idea I could dream up.

Cookhover began as a way to capture and share this journey. I wanted a place to document what I was learning, celebrate delicious discoveries, and, most importantly, invite others to join in. Because to me, food is all about bringing people together and making life a little brighter, one recipe at a time.

Why You Can Trust Me

With over 11 years of hands-on kitchen experience, I’ve cooked for friends, family, food festivals, and online communities alike. My background combines personal kitchen adventures with formal culinary workshops and even a stint working in a local bistro. Every recipe on Cookhover is tested in my own home—sometimes three or four times—to make sure it’s truly worth sharing.

I’m obsessed with the details, from getting the seasoning just right to finding the perfect lighting for food photos. My creative process starts with researching food trends, reading culinary journals, and drawing inspiration from travels and local markets. I believe in being honest: if a recipe doesn’t work, I won’t post it. Quality matters, and I’d never share something I wouldn’t make for my own loved ones.

You’ll notice a lot of care goes into the look of each dish, too. I love photography almost as much as cooking, and every picture on Cookhover is taken by me—no stock images, just real food, real moments, and a bit of kitchen magic.

Outside of Cookhover, you’ll find me hiking, trying new bakeries, or curled up with a cookbook and a big cup of coffee. I’m always learning—whether it’s a new skill in the kitchen, a flavor combo I hadn’t thought of, or a shortcut that saves time on busy nights. I promise to keep sharing the best of what I discover, so you can cook with confidence and creativity.
